Getting Ready

Our room has been getting prepared for the Smart Boards that are being installed during fall break. I'm SOOOO excited and can't wait to have such a wonderful tool in the classroom. I know the children are going to have a ball with it. Here is where one half of our chalkboard use to be...

5 Senses

Today we learned about our 5 senses. The children all brainstormed how we use each of our senses.  We labeled the senses on a poster and then made our own 5 senses person.

X-Ray

Today we learned more about our bones by singing the skeleton dance song. We all had a blast.
Then the children helped me put together a skeleton puzzle.

Once we were done the children each took a turn finding a bone. Then they were the teacher and called a friend to come up and find a bone.

After we discussed that when we break bone we have to get a picture taken called an X-ray. Finally the children made an x-ray by gluing q-tips.

5 Senses

This week we are talking about our body and our 5 senses.

Today we read Head To Toe and reenacted the book. Then we talked about our bodies and watched the skelton dance on You Tube. We all had fun dancing to it.

One of the children's jobs this week is to make a Mr. Potato head and tell me what they use to see, hear, taste, touch and smell. I think they came out sooooo cute. I can't wait for all the children to finish them. For the other jobs the children are drawing shapes, matching upper and lower case letters and one to one correspondence( I will take pictures tomorrow).

Ms. Wishy Washy

On Friday we watched Ms. Wishy Washy on the computer, I wish we had our smart board. Then the children made her. They come out adorable.

Cows

Today we learned about cows.
After we learned fun facts about cows the children told me one that they learned. Then I wrote it on a sentence strip and taped it to a cow that Ms. Emily and I made last week. TOO CUTE!!! I loved hearing what everyone remembered!

Then the children had a chance to make their own cow fact book.
